Platform School Wins 8th National Inter School Music Competition

Platform School has emerged as the champion of the 8th National Inter School Music Competition and Academic Awards held at the University of Lagos on November 23rd, 2023.

The prestigious music competition saw talented young musicians from schools compete in various categories including solo instrumental, ensemble, choir, composition, and more. After several rounds of performances judged by a panel of expert musicians, Platform School ultimately clinched the top prize.

Platform School’s winning ensemble performance was lauded for its creative arrangement, tight harmonies, and excellent musicianship. The school’s choir also took home the award for best choir.

Coming in second place was Honeyland School, which put up a strong showing especially instrumental. Lagoon School took third place overall, boosted by their standout composition piece.

The National Inter School Music Competition aims to foster music education and showcase emerging young talent. As the 2023 champions, Platform School has upheld its reputation as a leader in music and academic excellence. 

The competition was held at the University of Lagos, The university’s state-of-the-art concert halls provided an ideal setting for the talented musicians to shine.
